Hi everyone,

Well, the Spring/Summer issue of the PORT DOUGLAS Magazine arrived and has certainly hit the ground running.

Locally:To accommodation housesRetail and cafes Key Cairns shopping centresAll local distribution points filled up …again …and again.  Certainly, keeping me and the team on our toes.  Keep telling myself it is a genuine part of my fitness efforts!!  

Launch of a new issue is always exciting and we are humbled by how it is received by locals and visitors to our region.

I love seeing people reading a copy poolside at their resort, over a coffee, or even on the bus.  Locals stating, “Awesome, the new one is out!” Subscribers, and true Port Douglas ambassadors popping in to see us at the office.  Genuine and proud to discuss their personal experiences as they spend their well-earned dollars on each repeat visit.  

Certainly, makes me feel fortunate… as a good friend of mine has reminded me over the years... “We’re living the dream!”

A small group were street side last week, heading home and I couldn’t help myself.  “I see you taking copies home? The reply, “Sure are, we want to show off to our family and friends where we’ve been and what we’ve done on our holidays!  And don’t worry, we will be back!”Airport bound, dressed in jeans and boots destined for cooler climates yet am loving the vibe of these visitors and their excitement to share their personal experience with others.  

Well done everyone, I think it represents a destination that is pulling together and offering an unrivalled experience. One that we live and breathe, Far North Queensland hospitality.

Now I know I am feeling the love a bit today, but I have to say I do LOVE this current cover, photographed by local legend Katie. She has truly captured that feeling of summer goodness with the rainforest and fresh water feels.
