Join Our Team – Experienced Gardener or Apprentice
Established in March 2015, Ghost Gum Gardening + Irrigation provides a wide range of services and expertise, including landscaping, garden maintenance, irrigation installation and repairs, and pressure cleaning. We are a well-established local business servicing the Mossman and Port Douglas areas and are seeking a motivated individual to join our team.
Position: Experienced Gardener or Apprentice Location: Mossman / Port Douglas Employment Type: Part-time, with potential for additional hours
Key Responsibilities: • General garden and lawn maintenance • Pruning, trimming, planting, and mulching • Lawn mowing, fertilising, and pest control • Irrigation installation and repairs (training provided if required) • Maintaining clean, well-presented outdoor spaces
Requirements – Experienced Gardener: • Previous experience in gardening or landscaping • Knowledge of local plants is an advantage • Ability to operate gardening tools and equipment • Strong attention to detail • Must hold a current manual driver’s licence • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Requirements – Apprentice Gardener: • Willingness to learn and develop new skills • Interest in horticulture, landscaping, and outdoor work • Must hold a current manual driver’s licence • Reliable and committed to training

GARDEN MAINTENANCE TEAM MEMBER
Team Member required to help with garden maintenance at Escape Villas, a luxury gated community in Port Douglas renowned for beautiful tropical gardens throughout the development. We offer above award hourly rate for the ideal candidate.
Key Duties: Lawn mowing, edging and whipper snipping Weeding, pruning, hedging and general garden maintenance Mulching and planting as per seasonal requirements Routine checks of outdoor areas to ensure property always looking its best Basic upkeep of supplied tools and equipment Reporting maintenance and/or safety requirements to Supervisor
The Ideal Candidate will: Be reliable, hard working and well presented Be respectful of other team members, guests and Villa owners Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Be able to manage time effectively Be physically fit as this is an outdoor position Hold a current drivers licence

NATIVITY SHEEP TRAIL
Come join the fun this festive season by participating in a community activity called the Nativity Sheep Trail. The Nativity Sheep Trail is designed to bring people into local businesses and to share the Christmas story. Participating shops in Mossman will have a cute little sheep, wearing a name tag, displayed somewhere in their business. They will also have entry forms and will display a poster at the front of their shop. The idea being that families and children will pick up an entry form, follow the trail through town, visit the participating businesses, find all the sheep and record their names on the entry form. A box at Bartolos shop will be provided for completed entry forms to be deposited. All entries that have the correct names will go into the draw to win a family Christmas Gift Basket. The Nativity Sheep Trail will run from Tues 25th November to Thurs 18th December and the draw will take place at the Community Carols under the Raintrees on Sun 21st Dec. If not present at the draw the winner will be notified by phone. Come and support your local community and see if you can find all the sheep!!!
