PALMER SEA REEF GOLF COURSE APPRENTICE
Palmer Sea Reef Golf Course is North Queensland’s premier golf course and the only tropical links course in Australia. Situated just outside the heart of Port Douglas, the unique and challenging links-style layout at Palmer Sea Reef was designed by the world renowned Thomson, Wolveridge & Perrett design. It lies less than a couple of kilometres from Port Douglas’s famous Four-Mile Beach.
An Apprenticeship in Sports Turf Management opens you up to a world of possibilities with it being a globally recognised and a high demand trade with an anticipated 14,000 jobs required Australia wide in the next 5 years. Reporting to and learning from the Course Superintendent your primary purpose is to participate as an active and enthusiastic member of the Agronomy team. You will assist in all course duties and be given on the job training in all facets of golf course operations as well as attending TAFE QLD for formal training in order to complete a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management.
The key tasks include:
- Engage in a variety of work throughout the Golf Course and Body Corporate areas
- Participate in the maintenance, renovation and reconstruction of all turf playing surfaces
- Attend TAFE classes as required over the course of the 3 year Apprenticeship and make every effort to maximise educational opportunities provided to you.

RESERVATIONS CLERK
Exemplar Coaches and Limousines is the leading airport transfer company in the Cairns-Port Douglas region. We are the preferred transport provider for the majority of domestic and international agents booking visitors to the region and move upwards of 170,000 passengers per year. We are located in Craiglie with office hours 9-5 daily.
Currently we have a part-time position available for a Reservations Consultant to work in our Craiglie office. A full time role is negotiable further into the employment cycle if desired. This role entails; entering bookings into our data base that arrive via email, over the internet or phone, and some ancillary administrative duties. You will work in a close team structure within a busy office environment.
Natural attributes and skill sets required are:
• Friendly personality,
• excellent communicator,
• polite phone manner.
• exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills,
• enjoy working as part of a happy team structure, and
• basic computer skills.
Pay is above award rates with 11.5% superannuation as part of the pay package in accordance with the Fair Pay Commission.
As an integral player in the tourism sector here, we operate 365 days per year, as such, some weekend work and public holiday work is essential. All positions work as per an agreed roster. Previous experience in tourism is an advantage, but not essential. All employees receive initial competency based training and ongoing training. Juniors, are welcome to apply.
