TRAINEE VETERINARY NURSEPort Douglas Vets needs more hands on deck! Are you looking for a new career? A fantastic opportunity has opened up to join our team as a Veterinary Nurse (entry-level) - the best bit? No experience is required!The role of a Veterinary Nurse includes (but is not limited to):- Assist vets with routine exams- Surgical and hospital nursing including monitoring anaesthetics- Prepare and administer medication as required- Admission and discharge of hospital and surgical patients- Blood collection and testing, including IV catheter placement- Assist with radiographs and ultrasound- Cleaning and sterilisation of instruments- General day-to-day nursing duties to support our team- Assist with dental scale and polish- General cleaning duties- Booking appointments and taking phone calls- The opportunity to complete Veterinary Nursing qualificationsTraining will be provided for the above.What we are looking for:- Not afraid to get your hands dirty- Proactive and self-motivated- Willingness to learn safe and effective animal handling skills- Team player- Ability to multitask- A keen eye for the finer details- Capable of working under pressure- the good, the sad, the in-between all matter- Computer skills- Excellent phone etiquette- Effective communication skills within the team and with clientsWe have a flexible work ethic, and we emphasise the importance of work-life balance.
