Fifty cent fares for the rest, fifty buck fares for Douglas Shire

While most Queenslanders are receiving permanent 50c public transport, Douglas Shire residents without a car pay a minimum of $50 to travel about 20km between Mossman and Port Douglas.

The Daintree Shop in Port Douglas is on the lookout for a casual Local Tour Expert to join our small, friendly team.

What you’ll be doing: • Helping visitors choose the best tours and experiences in the Daintree, the Great Barrier Reef, and all around Port Douglas • Offering warm, friendly and knowledgeable customer service • Selling souvenirs and local products • Sharing insider tips and local recommendations to make each visitor’s stay extra special

Who we’re looking for: • A people person with great customer service skills • Ideally a local, or someone with strong knowledge of the region (or a quick learner!) • Friendly, reliable, and happy to work flexibly as part of a small team • Experience in tourism or retail is a bonus, but not essential

This is a casual role – perfect for someone who loves the region and wants to help others experience the best of it. Due to the extensive training involved with this role, we are looking for someone long-term.

GOLF COURSE GROUNDSMAN

Palmer Sea Reef Golf Course has an opportunity for a Full-time Groundsman to join the Course Maintenance Team. The role is ideally suited to an individual who displays an enthusiastic, positive attitude, is highly motivated and takes pride in demonstrating their well-honed skills in day to day tasks. Limited rostered weekend work will be mandatory for the successful applicant and a good knowledge of golf is a advantage.

The successful applicant should possess the following skills and attributes

• Current Drivers Licence

• Practical Mechanical Knowledge

• Energetic and reliable with a commitment to contributing to team culture

• Have the ability to follow instructions and work well with others.

• Be willing to learn and improve all skills required to effectively carry out duties.
