Marine Eco Tourism Operation - Seeking Experienced Sailing Skipper / Engineer
About the role Sailaway is seeking an experienced Sailing Skipper / Engineer to join our dynamic eco-tourism operation in Port Douglas, Queensland. This role will involve skippering luxury sailing catamarans on unforgettable marine experiences, showcasing the natural wonders of the Great Barrier Reef to our guests.
What you'll be doing · Safely operating and navigating our vessels, ensuring exceptional customer experiences · Performing regular maintenance and servicing to the highest engineering standards · Supervising and training a team of dedicated crew members · Providing exceptional customer service and environmental education to our guests · Contributing to the continuous improvement of our operations and safety protocols
What we're looking for · Significant experience as a sailing skipper and marine engineer, with a proven track record in the tourism industry · Relevant qualifications, such as a Master 5 and MEDII. · Strong mechanical and engineering skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain vessels · Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a passion for showcasing the Great Barrier Reef · A commitment to safe and sustainable eco-tourism practices

FNSF-Nomad is currently seeking Experienced Fishing Guides to join our team for our upcoming charters from late September - December 2025.
We are a well-established luxury sportfishing charter visiting remote locations from Lizard Island to Lockhart and over to the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Catering for a maximum of just 6 anglers with 6 crew, we offer a very exclusive fishing experience. Each guide will fish from a 6m centre console with a maximum of 2 anglers.

Free Community Family Fun Day
Mossman Support Services Youth Centre is hosting a free Community Family Fun Day for Queensland Child Protection Week, and we’d love you, your families, and your organisations/networks to join us. • When: Friday, 12 September 2025, 3:00–6:00 pm • Where: George Davis Park, Mossman It’ll be a relaxed afternoon with activities, sports, a kids disco, stalls (get in touch with us if you would like to have one at the event!), and plenty of time to connect with local services and families. The focus is simple: raising awareness about child protection and building safe, supportive spaces for kids in our community.
