LEGAL SECREATARY / CONVEYANCER Location: Port Douglas, QLD Employment Type: Full-Time (38 hours per week)

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Conveyancer/Legal Secretary to join our team long term. This role primarily involves managing conveyancing transactions, complemented by general administrative and secretarial duties.
Key Responsibilities: • Manage end-to-end residential and commercial conveyancing files. • Prepare and review legal documents, contracts, and correspondence. • Liaise with clients, real estate agents, banks, and other stakeholders. • Reception duties, including answering phone calls and scheduling appointments. • Assist with day-to-day general office administration and support tasks.
Qualifications and Skills: • Previous experience in conveyancing or legal administration is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook) • General understanding of invoicing and accounting (payments and receipts) is preferred • Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to work independently, as part of a team and under pressure to meet time critical deadlines. • Understanding the importance and maintaining of confidentiality.

Location: Port Douglas Community Service Network Inc Hours: 30 hours per week (Monday – Thursday) Term: 12-month traineeship
This traineeship position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience while studying towards a Certificate III in Community Services. The role is ideal for Australian citizens who are keen to build a career in the community services sector.
About the Role The Community Services Trainee will work within the Family & Financial Resilience Team at the Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment to our participants, volunteers and visiting services.
The primary focus of this role is to help strengthen connections and provide meaningful support to Douglas Shire Families aged 0-12 through the Child and Parent Support Program. This includes assisting with a range of family-centred activities and community engagement initiatives that promote wellbeing, connection and resilience. While facilitating our Playgroups and New Parents Group is a key component, the role also involves supporting broader family services, contributing to program planning and delivery, and engaging with families to identify and respond to their evolving needs.
The main focus of this role will be building connections and working to support Douglas Shire families through our Child and Parent Support Program. The role requires sensitivity, professionalism and confidentiality. The trainee will be responsible for providing effective support to the Family & Financial Resilience Team and particularly to work in our Playgroup and New Parents Group.
The role will suit an individual with an interest in building a career in the Community Services Sector with opportunities to participate in the varied activities of the Port Douglas Community Service Network. The role is offered as a trainee position for 12 months with structured on-the-job learning and professional support.
