Richard Stoker spent twenty years in insurance before swapping policies for passengers and driving taxis for another two decades. By the time he hung up the keys, he had a head full of characters and plots clamouring to become books, movie scripts, and short stories.
He then lectured on business subjects at two tertiary (TAFE) colleges from manuals he created.
Following this, he wrote about fifty articles for two newspapers.
For two years, he was a committee member of The Clink.
In April 2012 he attended the launching of the book 'The Lost Journal of Bram Stoker' held in the office premises of Robson Press in London, England.
In his seventieth year, determined to get the details of his novel right, he travelled to Los Angeles and Las Vegas, then journeyed by bus from Venezuela through Brazil and into Argentina—proving that curiosity does not retire at seventy.
Today, he lives on the edge of a tropical rainforest in northern Australia, close to his son and granddaughter. Surrounded by lush green and teeming wildlife, he remains fiercely protective of the world’s rainforests—and would hate to see them disappear.
