Newsport is on the lookout for a talented Sales Representative (Part-Time or Full-Time) to help us grow our advertising sales across three exciting platforms: our well-loved newspaper, digital channel, and magazine.
About the Role
You’ll play a key role in driving revenue, with a primary focus on our bi-weekly newspaper. Over time, you'll also be supporting sales for our online platform and magazine.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fun and motivated team that loves what we do – supporting local businesses, telling great stories, and keeping the community connected.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell print, digital, and magazine advertising to local and regional businesses.
- Build and nurture long-term client relationships.
- Represent the Newsport with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Manage advertising bookings, client briefs, and campaign follow-ups.
- Take over newspaper distribution duties (own vehicle required)
About You
- Proven experience in newspaper and/or magazine sales.
- Confident communicator with a genuine passion for helping businesses thrive.
- Able to work independently while being a great team player.
- Organised, reliable, and driven to meet sales targets.
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and access to a car.

JOB TITLE: THEATRE ADMINISTRATOR
Are you passionate about the performing arts and thrive in an administrative and leadership role? The Douglas Theatre Arts Group (DTAG) is seeking a dedicated Theatre Administrator to oversee the operational and volunteer management aspects of our community-driven theatre. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the vibrant cultural life of Port Douglas while supporting the success of local productions.
Job Description: As the Theatre Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the theatre. Your responsibilities in this contract role will include:
• Administrative Management: Overseeing office operations, maintaining records, coordinating schedules, and ensuring smooth communication with trades, artists, production teams, and board members.
• Event Coordination: Managing the theatre's calendar for rehearsals, performances, and special events, while assisting with financial administration.
• Volunteer Management: Recruiting, training, and rostering volunteers, maintaining an updated membership database, and fostering a positive environment for volunteer engagement.
• Bar Operations Oversight: Supervising bar services, including inventory management, volunteer coordination, and compliance with health and licensing standards.
This is a contract position requiring up to 20 hours of work per week an ABN will be required.

It's My Time Fitness, Mossman Showgrounds, has availability for use of our spacious air conditioned premises, on a casual regular basis. There are flexible options for room hire only, or offering classes promoted on our club timetable.
Our club features gym mat flooring throughout, some fitness equipment, toilet facility, kitchen and limited storage. We are ideally located in the fitness precinct next to the oval, with adjacent undercover areas, so you can utilise the outdoors as well as indoors.
The space would suit (but not limited to) Pilates, Fitness circuits, Boxing for fitness, Self Defence, Kids classes, Meditation....the choice is yours.
