BREAKING: Landslide impacts Captain Cook Highway at Ellis Beach
A landslide just south of Ellis Beach has partially closed the Cook Highway with reports filtering through that only heavy vehicles are able to get through.
UPDATE 7:55am: Douglas Shire Council advise of road closure of Captain Cook Highway from Palm Cove to Ellis Beach "due to flooding and debris" between Veivers Road, Palm Cove and Ellis Beach. Please avoid the area until further notice.
BACKGROUND: Ellis Beach Bungalow staff have advised that Captain Cook Highway is now open, with traffic flowing in both directions.
